Important quotes

This first chapter captivated me by introducing the story with similar experiences that I have been through before.
"Panic was my first reaction to the multiple choice options which lay on my desk in front of me" (pg. 1)
also by saying how her and her mum would not always get along
"my mother is pretty strict with me" (pg. 6)
"Mama almost gives into her each time, and some days when the three of us are together it's World War Three." (pg. 6)
Personal response

This chapter shows how Josephine see's herself as an outsider because of her family's  background.
